Supervised Weight Loss Program
Insurance companies sometimes require a physician supervised weight loss program to be conducted prior to their approval to provide coverage for all or a portion of costs of LAP-BAND® surgery.
When this is necessary to obtain insurance payment, you have some options. You may proceed with your Primary Care Physician to determine whether they have a program, find another outside program, or utilize the Weigh Better, physician supervised weight loss program to fulfill these requirements. The choice is yours, as long as it will comply with the requirements of your insurance company.
For those patients who choose to forgo insurance and arrange for self-payment, this program is not a requirement by our office.
